Spring Highlights
April is one of the busiest months on a college campus! Exams, projects, events...it’s enough to drive any undergraduate crazy! But, with the turn in warmer weather, the packed events schedule and approaching commencement festivities seem to make it all worth it.
Since April is such a busy month--let’s recap!
For starters, the freshman and sophomore class councils teamed up to host Spring Fling--a week of activities on campus to celebrate Stevenson and the approach to the end of the semester. The week kicked off on April 2 with a special screening of the new movie Girls Trip in Rockland Banquet. Tuesday was all about Rockland and relaxing in Hawaii as the SGA took over the Marketplace serving up island themed vibes and food!
On Wednesdays We Wear Green, and April 4th was no different! Students were encouraged to showcase their Stevenson pride and enter an Instagram contest using the hashtags #springfling2k18 and #SUisHome.
On Friday, the councils continued their partnership for a 90’s and 2000’s themed Trivia Night in Rockland A! Following a successful Accepted Students Day on Saturday, the Apartment Quad came alive once again as students participated in an Egg Hunt complete with plenty of prizes and candy.
Due to inclement weather, the trip to Terrapin Adventures, scheduled for Sunday, April 8 has been rescheduled to Saturday, April 21st from 2-6 p.m. The trip is a $5 refundable deposit (which means you get your money back if you attend!) Stay tuned for more information!
Now, onto the class of the hour….OUR SENIORS!
Our senior class council has been busy getting ready for commencement and all the festivities surrounding “the best week of the year.” According to senior class representative, Brittany Appleby, the council has selected their readings and songs for baccalaureate while also booking details for graduation week. This includes a tour of Sagamore Whiskey.
Additionally, the t-shirt design for the senior class is being finalized. Orders can be placed online once the link is live and more information will be coming out by the end of the week, so stay tuned!
